Brightwood Labs LLC ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile applications handle your information.
Our Privacy-First Approach
Our apps are designed with privacy at the core. Your financial data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to your budgets, transactions, account balances, or other financial information.
How Our Apps Work
When you connect a third-party service (such as YNAB) to our app:
- Authentication: You authorize access directly with the third-party service. We facilitate the secure token exchange, but your credentials are never visible to us.
- Your Financial Data: Data is fetched directly from the third-party service to your device. It is cached locally on your device for performance and offline access. This data is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
- Access Tokens: Tokens that allow the app to communicate with third-party services are stored securely on your device only.
Information We Do Collect
While we don't collect your financial data, we do collect limited information to maintain and improve our apps:
- Crash Reports: If the app crashes, we receive anonymous diagnostic information to help us fix bugs. This includes device type, operating system version, and technical details about the crash. It does not include your financial data.
- Anonymous Usage Analytics: We collect anonymous, aggregated data about how our apps are used (such as which features are popular) to help us improve. This data cannot be used to identify you and does not include any financial information.
What We Do NOT Collect
To be clear, we never collect or have access to:
- Your budget data, transactions, or account balances
- Your bank account information
- Your third-party service credentials (passwords)
- Any personally identifiable financial information
Data Security
All communication between our apps and third-party services uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Your locally stored data is protected by your device's built-in security features. We never store your financial data or credentials on our servers.
Third-Party Services
Our apps integrate with third-party services like YNAB. When you connect these services, you are also subject to their privacy policies. We encourage you to review:

Analytics Providers
We use third-party services for crash reporting and analytics. These services receive only anonymous, non-financial data as described above. They are contractually prohibited from using this data for any purpose other than providing services to us.
Data Stored on Your Device
All financial data and preferences are stored locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time by:
- Using the "Clear Data" option in the app settings
- Uninstalling the app
- Disconnecting your third-party accounts within the app
Your Rights
Because your financial data is stored only on your device, you have full control over it. You can:
- Delete your local data at any time through the app
- Revoke third-party service access at any time
- Request information about what anonymous analytics data we've collected
- Opt out of analytics (where available in app settings)
Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
